Scattering Sunlight

$6.00

Scattering Sunlight uses a simple linen and slipped stitch pattern to create a richly textured shawl. It begins with just 3 stitches and quickly grows into a cozy triangle ready to be worn.

Pattern: The pattern includes both charted and written versions as well as detailed instructions on how to make the shawl larger, smaller, or to a different gauge.

Yarn and Gauge: For my shawl, I opted for a lighter weight summer garment, using US size 6 needles and 650 yards / 600 meters of a worsted wieght, cotton/silk blend - Tokonatsu (colorway Pistachio)

However, precise gauge is not crucial for this project and absolutely any yarn weight may be used. A yarn with at least some natural fiber (wool, cotton, linen, etc.) is recommended, though, to ensure the final piece will block fully flat.

Create an oversized, chunky shawl with bulky yarn, or a vibrant, delicate wrap with colorful sock yarn. Blend several colors together for a fade or go monochromatic with one. The possibilities are endless!
